Sydney, New South Wales, Australia TAG Legal Search Full time $104,000 - $208,000 per year

Are you a junior to mid level Banking & Finance lawyer looking to accelerate your career with one of the world's most respected international firms?

  • Work on complex, award-winning cross-border finance transactions
  • Join a supportive, high-performing team with a down-to-earth culture
  • Clear path to promotion + global secondment opportunities available

We are partnering with a leading global firm to appoint multiple Banking & Finance Associates (2–5 years PQE) to join their high-performing Sydney team. This is a rare opportunity to work on premium, cross-border matters in a firm known for setting the benchmark in financial legal services globally.

The Role:

This role will see you working on some of the most significant and innovative finance transactions in the market, including:

  • Complex cross-border financing
    involving multiple jurisdictions
  • High-profile leveraged and acquisition finance
matters for major financial institutions, corporates, and private equity sponsors
  • Project and infrastructure finance
in key sectors including energy, renewables, and transport
  • Structured finance, asset finance, and capital markets transactions
  • Advising borrowers, lenders, arrangers and underwriters across the full spectrum of financial products

You will be supported by an experienced and approachable team of Partners and senior lawyers. While you'll be given strong mentorship, you'll also be encouraged to step up and take ownership of your matters, gaining hands-on experience with client engagement and deal execution from the outset.

What makes this opportunity stand out is the breadth and depth of international work – a true hallmark of the firm's global platform – and the chance to collaborate with offices across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the US.

You can expect:

  • Exposure to
    first-of-a-kind mandates
    that regularly receive award recognition
  • A team culture that balances excellence and high performance with genuine camaraderie – the environment is collaborative, supportive and down-to-earth
  • Overseas secondment opportunities for those who perform – whether it's London, Hong Kong, New York or elsewhere in the network
  • A genuine commitment to your development, including:
  • Extensive client contact
  • Internal and external training programs
  • Opportunities to contribute to client seminars and knowledge development

Requirements:

We are seeking a lawyer with 2–5 years' post-admission experience in banking and finance or broader transactional law (e.g. capital markets or front end restructuring). Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in a top-tier, mid-tier or international firm
  • A commercial mindset and interest in complex deal structuring
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A collaborative, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude

This is a unique chance to join a firm that is serious about its people, its clients, and its culture. Whether you're looking for international exposure, access to market-leading work, or a clear runway for promotion – this is an opportunity not to be missed.
