We have a newly created position available for an experienced payroll professional to join Marsh in either Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Payroll Delivery Manager
You will utilise your distinctive blend of regulatory knowledge, payroll operations experience, analytical skills and interpersonal abilities to drive the implementation and upkeep of payroll compliance across the Pacific Region (Australia, New Zealand).
This is a unique opportunity to further your career within a leading Global organisation, offering a challenging role with a considerable degree of autonomy and responsibility.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both from home and our office.
We will count on you to:
- Ensure overall payroll compliance within the regulatory framework.
- Implement and document appropriate controls audit processes including development of necessary payroll reports.
- Examine payrolls processes to ensure they are up-to-date, legally compliant, and up to the highest industry standards, including wages, pay rates and tax withholdings.
- Analyse the systems, processes and structures of the existing payroll administration to identify errors and deficiencies and recommend procedure changes.
- Communicate with business stakeholders and HR Managers to understand and manage payroll issues and concerns that may arise and help implementing payroll changes when and where required.
- Work closely with the payroll operations team based in India, to drive improvements and implement recommendations in response to legislation change.
- Work closely with the payroll provider, to ensure they work within their SLA's and provide quality services in line with our requirements
- Provide assurance that the payroll setup is in line with statutory requirements and applicable awards.
What you need to have:
- Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll operations and/or payroll auditing.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulatory requirements.
- Experience interpreting multiple industrial pay conditions.
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation, awards and compliance requirements.
- Capability to think independently, suggest improvements, analyse and interpret payroll data, identify and mitigate risk and to advocate change when necessary.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
What makes you stand out?
- Payroll operations experience within the financial services sector would be well regarded.
- Knowledge of Workday would be beneficial.
- Experience in working or managing remote teams will be a major advantage.
