Clemenger BBDO Australia is looking for an established Payroll professional to join our finance team in Melbourne as the Payroll Manager for 4 well known agencies.
About the Role
To be successful in this role you will bring your payroll expertise, financial best practices and knowledge of process and experience. You will also be comfortable liaising with business leaders to provide guidance and advice for any payroll related questions or concerns.
You will be covering 300 staff in both our Melbourne and Sydney offices, and show the following approach to your work:
- Be process driven.
- Have the ability to prioritise tasks and the determination to see tasks through to the end
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organisation skills
- Confidence and openness in dealing with management and agency staff
- Adhere to tight internal controls ensuring all information is properly recorded and analysed
- Proactively break down tasks and initiate action

- Works well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously
- Exceptional people skills (both internal and external)
Responsibilities
- Permanent staff payroll - Responsible for payroll for approximately 300 permanent staff
- Point of contact for: staff payroll queries AND managers, employee queries (i.e. probation periods, termination of staff)
- Leave - Annual leave, Sick leave & Long service leave reconciliations, monthly provisions and forecasts
- Month end reporting - payroll expense account variances, monthly staff report, payroll expense accruals, payroll journal processing
- Reconciliation of PAYG tax obligations
- Reporting - Recruitment/Compensations/Training/Severance
Skills Required
- Payroll - minimum of 5 years' experience
- Superannuation knowledge
- Strong Excel skills
