About the role

Koncept Build Pty Ltd, an industry leader in the construction industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator for our C&P Linings division. This full-time position is based in our Brisbane, Southeast Queensland office and will play a pivotal role in the continued success and growth of our business.

What you'll be doing

You will be responsible for compiling accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial fit-out projects, ensuring profitability while securing contracts. Your role involves a high level of expertise in materials, labour, and project management specific to ceiling and partition systems, such as suspended ceilings, drywall, and external claddings.

  • Quantity Take-offs and Cost Estimation: Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates from architectural drawings, plans, and specifications, focusing specifically on ceiling and partition requirements.
  • Bid and Tender Management: Managing the entire bid process, including preparing and submitting comprehensive quotations and proposals to clients and general contractors.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination: Sourcing, requesting, and analyzing bids/quotes from material suppliers and specialised subcontractors (e.g., gyprockers, framers and fixers, ), and negotiating prices to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Risk Management: Assessing project risks and opportunities to mitigate potential issues and ensure costs are kept in line with forecasts.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and internal teams to align on scope, methodology, schedule, and pricing.
  • Value Engineering: Identifying cost-saving options and providing value engineering suggestions to optimize project profitability without compromising quality.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Senior Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial and industrial projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations, with the ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in the use of estimating software and tools, such as Buildsoft, Cubit, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is highly desirable
