The Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial operations of a business at the forefront of the construction and mining services industry. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll oversee financial reporting across Australia and New Zealand, lead process improvements, and mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of annual audited financial statements
  • Technical accounting advice and audit liaison
  • Compliance with statutory reporting obligations
  • Implementation and refinement of internal controls
  • Mentoring and supervision of junior finance team members
  • Contribution to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

About You

You're a technically strong accountant with a passion for accuracy, leadership, and continuous improvement. You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working with high-calibre professionals who value collaboration and innovation.

You bring:

  • A CPA or CA qualification
  • 5–7 years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills

Skills and Experience

  • CPA/CA qualified
  • Experience in audit and tax compliance (highly desirable)
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Commercial acumen and integrity
