About the role
Medical receptionist is a key role of the business, managing the needs of both the patients and the practitioners. This is a fast-paced role at the front desk, that would suit an individual who enjoys a diverse role in a busy medical practice able to manage multiple tasks with confidence. The successful candidate must display a high amount of initiative, motivation and autonomy.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing friendly and professional customer service to all patients and practitioner both in person and over the phone.
- Attending to patient enquiries, booking patient appointments for multiple health care providers efficiently.
- General administration duties - mail, filing, faxing, emailing and scanning documents.
- Processing medical and allied health payments.
- Medicare, Private billings, DVA and Work cover billings.
The successful candidate will require:
- Experience within the health industry or medical practice desired.
- Proficient in all Microsoft programs.
- Desired experience using Best Practice and Nookal software.
- Strong interpersonal skills/customer service.
- 22 hours per week.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple demands/concurrent work tasks.
- Honesty and accuracy with the ability to work with confidential information.
- The ability to work well both autonomously and within a team environment.
