Position: Bookkeeper

Overview

Transport Company

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and supporting smooth financial operations. This role involves recording day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting management with financial insights.

Key Responsibilities


•    Record and maintain accurate financial transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expenses, etc.).


•    Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.


•    Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts regularly.


•    Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.


•    Track and manage accounts receivable collections and vendor payments.


•    Prepare financial reports such as cash flow summaries, balance sheets, and income statements for management.


•    Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial audits.


•    Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and company policies.


•    Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both digital and physical.


•    Collaborate with accountants, auditors, and management as needed.

Qualifications


•    Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or in a similar role.


•    Proficiency with accounting Software .. MYOB


•    Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial regulations.


•    Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.


•    Excellent organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail.


•    Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.


•    Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred, but not always required).
