At Metcash Food, we're the power behind local business, proudly supplying over 1,600 independently owned stores across Australia and New Zealand. With trusted independent brands like IGA, Foodland and Campbells/C-Store, our stores sit at the heart of their communities, providing locals with the products and homegrown produce they love most. Now, we're looking for a passionate and strategic Senior P&C Business Partner to join our Food Pillar and help shape the future of independent retail.
About the Opportunity
As a Senior P&C Business Partner, you'll collaborate with senior leaders to shape and implement people strategies that drive commercial success. Acting as a trusted advisor, change champion, and leadership coach, you'll support three key portfolios within the Food business—enabling high performance, deep engagement, and sustainable growth.
In this Role
- Partner with leaders to align workforce strategy with business priorities and outcomes
- Lead change initiatives, ensuring sustainable performance and strong engagement
- Drive workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession strategies for critical roles
- Coach and advise senior leaders to build leadership capability and accountability
- Champion a performance culture focused on delivery, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Work closely with P&C Advice Centre and functions to broker services and deliver business outcomes
- Escalate and resolve significant people matters, including ER issues, when required
- Cascade national P&C initiatives across Food to ensure consistent execution
You're Likely a Match If
- 5+ years' experience in People & Culture within a generalist or Business Partnering role
- Degree qualifications in HR, P&C or a related field (preferred)
- Experience in coaching, influencing, and developing senior leaders
- Strong background in organisational change, cultural transformation, and workforce planning
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment (FMCG experience desirable)
- Proven success in stakeholder engagement across multiple levels and functions
- Resilience, agility, and a solutions-focused mindset with a passion for driving results
