We're a busy electrical contracting business based in Preston's, and we're looking for a motivated and handy Trades Assistant to join our small team.

We handle a wide variety of work, from office fit-outs and industrial jobs to new homes, air conditioning, and solar/battery installs.

We're looking for someone reliable, physically fit, and keen to learn. This role is ideal for someone with some trade experience who is happy to work hard, listen, and show initiative.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be working alongside our electricians, helping them complete projects efficiently.

Your main duties will include:

  • Assisting with the rough-in and termination of cabling.
  • Running cables through walls, ceilings, and underfloors.
  • Helping with the installation of solar panels, batteries, and switchboards.
  • Fitting off appliances, lights, and power points.
  • Moving materials, setting up the work area, and ensuring the site is clean.
  • Passing tools and equipment to the tradesmen.

About You

  • Must-Have: Current Driver's Licence and your own reliable transport to get to various sites.
  • Must-Have: White Card.
  • You are physically fit and prepared for manual work. This includes lifting, running cables, working in tight spaces (like roof cavities), and working outdoors in all weather.
  • You are handy and familiar with basic power tools and hand tools.
  • You have a great work ethic—you're punctual, reliable, and have a "can-do" attitude.
  • You can listen to instructions and are capable of working without constant supervision once you know the task.
  • Any previous trade, labouring, or solar experience is a big advantage.
