About Your Opportunity

Due to expanding our business, we currently have an opportunity for a Permanent Trade Assistant to join our growing team in Prestons, NSW.

This full time position is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on environments and is eager to support our qualified diesel mechanics and boilermakers in the servicing, repair, and fabrication of heavy vehicles and tankers. This role will suit someone who is multi-skilled, hands on, and has problem solving capabilities.

You'll work alongside our experienced workshop team, gaining exposure to a wide range of tasks including truck servicing, trailer repairs, and custom metalwork. Safety awareness and teamwork are essential, as you'll be working in loud environments where attention to detail and communication are critical.

Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Supporting workshop team with daily repairs and maintenance as required

· Operating basic hand and power tools safely

· Performing general labouring duties and site clean-up

· Transporting equipment to 3rd party service providers for repair and maintenance

About You

To be successful in this dynamic role, you will have:

· Current Trade Certificate or equivalent labouring experience.

· Trade Assistant experience desirable.

· Capability to support transport operations processes by assisting the team to clear minor vehicle defects;

· Capability to weld stainless steel (preferred not essential);

· Willingness to perform Piper metering system calibration (training provided);

· A general interest in the Transport Industry.

· Ability to work within a team environment.

· A strong work ethic.

· A strong focus on doing the job safely and compliantly.
