The Opportunity

As Head Chef, you will bring your expertise in Middle Eastern cuisine to shape the creative direction of a premium concept. Reporting to the Precinct Executive Chef, you'll lead day-to-day kitchen operations while driving menu development, supplier partnerships, and culinary excellence from the ground up.

Overview of the role includes:

  • Design and deliver a contemporary menu rooted in authenticity and premium produce.
  • Oversee all kitchen operations including service, food quality, cost control, and team management.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a talented kitchen brigade in line with Hunter St.'s training standards.
  • Collaborate with the Precinct Executive Chef and leadership team to achieve creative and commercial success.
  • Drive innovation in presentation, consistency, and guest experience.
  • Build relationships with premium suppliers and champion local, seasonal ingredients.

About You

You are an experienced Head or Senior Sous Chef with a deep understanding of Middle Eastern cuisine, and a desire to showcase it at a premium level. You lead with calm authority, respect, and creativity and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You'll bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in a high-end or large-format restaurant environment.
  • Expertise in Mediterranean cuisines, with menu development capability.
  • Strong financial acumen - ordering, rostering, and cost control.
  • A hands-on leadership style with a focus on culture, mentorship and consistency.
  • Passion for innovation balanced with respect for traditional culinary craft.
