General Manager – Ground Handling (Sydney)

This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of ground handling operations at Sydney International Airport. If you're an aviation leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment — and you want to make a genuine impact on service delivery at one of the busiest gateways in the region, then this role could be for you.

We're looking for someone with a strong leadership skillset, someone who can balance strategy with day-to-day leadership, ensuring that passengers, airlines, and partners experience safe, seamless, and reliable ground services. You'll oversee a large-scale team, drive performance across multiple service areas, and partner closely with customers and stakeholders to deliver on commitments.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading and developing a diverse team of managers and frontline staff to deliver operational excellence.

Driving a culture where safety, service quality, and customer focus come first.

Owning the P&L and ensuring targets are achieved through smart planning and efficiency gains.

Building trusted relationships with airline customers, airport authorities, regulators, and partners.

Championing continuous improvement to keep services sharp, compliant, and future-ready.

What You'll Bring

Proven senior leadership experience in ground handling, aviation, or a highly regulated operational environment.

The ability to inspire, coach, and lead teams in complex, multi-stakeholder settings.

Strong financial and commercial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and P&L.

Excellent relationship-building skills — with customers, regulators, and your teams.

A passion for delivering results safely, efficiently, and with the customer front of mind.
