The Deli Women and Children's Centre is a non-profit community service established in 1979, dedicated to supporting women and children affected by domestic and family violence. We offer a range of services including specialist counselling, parenting support, workshops, e-safety help, and therapeutic groups to promote healing and recovery from trauma. Our goal is to ensure everyone feels safe, supported, and heard, contributing to the wellbeing of families and communities.

Role Description

This is a part-time hybrid role for a General Manager located in the Greater Sydney Area, with some work-from-home flexibility. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, implementing strategic plans, managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. Additionally, this role will involve financial management, fundraising activities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Responsibilities include

  • Lead organisational strategy and growth, working closely with the Board to deliver long-term sustainability.
  • Oversee strong governance, compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Build influential partnerships across community, government, corporate, and philanthropic sectors.
  • Drive diverse revenue streams, including grants, sponsorships, and commercial initiatives.
  • Lead, inspire, empower and develop a committed, high-performing team.

You are a passionate, authentic leader with high integrity, commitment to trauma informed practice and the ability to develop and deliver strategy, build relationships, advocate for the organisation, and deliver good governance, sound financial and administrative management and legal and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills
  • Experience in staff management and team building
  • Strong financial management and budgeting experience
  • Knowledge of community services, particularly in domestic and family violence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment
  • Relevant qualifications in social work, community services, or management
