The Appraiser role:

Our nation-wide clients require an experienced appraiser to join our Appraisals team. Together and following company processes, you will calculate adjusted EBITDA estimates for their healthcare business. This role also prepares the estimates of plant and equipment and stock. Value estimates are based on various estimating methodologies.

This role would suit ONLY those applicants seeking Part-Time work. We are looking for a long term staff member to join us

Due to our continued growth, we are looking to expand our small team with this exciting opportunity for a part-time Appraiser. Due to the flexibility of the role the person can be based anywhere in Australia.

This role will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Calculating normalised or adjusted EBITDA amounts for each business
  • Understanding and analysing P+L statements is key
  • Using company systems and procedures to deep dive into client businesses within the healthcare industry, to review key quantitative and qualitative data to calculate normalised profit margins
  • Think critically, help identify outlier expense trends and consider materiality of such financial data
  • Comply with company procedures to document the commercial rationale that supports the estimation opinions determined
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders including clients regarding business reports and forecasts to help understand the true adjusted EBITDA profit of a business
  • Follow company processes to store and catalogue client data
  • Manage client expectations around calculations of EBITDA estimates
  • Note: This is NOT a bookkeeping role nor processing of AP/AR invoices

Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:

  • Highly desirable: Accounting experience in public practice
  • Highly desirable: Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret a variety of financial reports
  • Highly desirable: Proficiency in analysing P+L reports and trading accounts
  • Highly desirable: Advanced bookkeeping skills (ie above transactional level)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (eg V Look Ups, Pivot tables)
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing monthly financial reports and statements
  • You have a can-do attitude and enjoy a career "sea change"
  • You will be a positive team member who helps build a positive workplace culture, presents themself in a professional manner and yet works well autonomously
  • You will be resilient with a strong work ethic and mentally adaptable and coachable in learning new financial data analysis
  • Ability to build robust relationships at all levels, internally and externally
  • Clear and effective communicator with clients and staff on calculations
  • Compliant with Privacy and Confidentiality best practices for sensitive information
  • Strong, reliable internet for online technology tools & daily use of Teams
