The Opportunity

We're looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with an immediate start available.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure in a fast-paced commercial environment and build on your accounting foundations as part of a national, high-performing finance team based at our Preston office.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of month-end journals and general ledger entries
  • Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
  • Support with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Assistance with internal and external audit processes
  • Process improvement and collaboration across finance functions

About You

  • Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
  • 1–3 years' experience in a similar accounting role (retail or services sector ideal)
  • Working towards CAANZ or CPA (or planning to commence soon)
  • Must be enrolled in CAANZ or CPA professional qualification
  • Confident with Excel and financial systems
  • Experience with any ERP financial system required
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong communication and a collaborative mindset
  • Australian work rights required
