ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a nationwide leader in the servicing and customisation of premium espresso machines, with a reputation for outstanding service and strong customer relationships. They are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Melbourne team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role will support the finance function across month-end reporting, reconciliations, accounts management, and process improvements, while contributing to the company's strong culture and growth journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with month-end close, financial and management reporting, and year-end audits
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, and expense processing
  • Support daily bank reconciliations and weekly cash flow reporting
  • Accurately process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Post and reconcile credit card transactions
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable queries
  • Maintain process documentation and contribute to process improvements
  • Provide ad hoc finance support to the Senior Accountant and wider finance team

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification in accounting or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent system and Excel skills
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset with the ability to work autonomously
  • Team-oriented approach with a willingness to collaborate across departments
  • Passion for coffee culture and interest in espresso machines
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems will be highly regarded
