Primary objective
Undertake regulatory authorisation and compliance activities, including critical analysis or applications, investigations, surveillance
and operations across the range of legislative frameworks administered by the agency within the agency in the Alice Springs region.
Preparation and presentation of reports in relation to the applications to various stakeholders, including statutory bodies. The
ability to provide detailed advice on application processes and statutory requirements across the frameworks.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist in the administration of regulatory, compliance and enforcement programs aimed at harm minimisation across a broad
range of legislative frameworks, and in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
2. Processing and critical analysis of applications administered by Licensing NT in accordance with statutory requirements across
a broad range of legislative frameworks, and in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
3. Administer and provide advice on relevant legislation and exercise statutory responsibilities.
4. Liaise with and assist industry, stakeholders and the community in relation to licensing enquiries.
5. Write or oversee completion of reports, decision notices and ministerial briefings for senior management.
6. Actively contribute to process review, decision notices and ministerial briefings for senior management.
7. Provide public and community education and awareness programs in relation to licensing requirements.
8. Collaborate with NT Police, Department of Health and other stakeholders to undertake operations and circulate educational
resources.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Previous knowledge and experience interpreting and applying legislative frameworks, policies and procedures and exercising
statutory responsibilities as delegated.
2. Demonstrated sound analytical judgement, problem solving, and high-level investigation and research skills.
3. Well-developed written communication skills, demonstrating the preparation of concise and thorough reports, briefs,
correspondence and advice on processes.
4. Demonstrated sound oral communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and the
ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated ability to operate as an effective team member, as well as independently, and to work under pressure, make
sound judgements and prioritise workloads in a busy environment.
6. Capacity to participate in regulatory exercises involving late night and/or remote locations and to work after hours at night and
on weekends and remotely throughout the NT.
7. Current NT Driver's Licence or equivalent.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated understanding of relevant national and local industry issues and regulatory initiatives.
2. Completion of Certificate IV or Diploma in Government (Investigations) or equivalent or the ability to obtain.

areas by 4x4 vehicle or by small aircraft.
