Medical Secretary – Specialist Medical Practice (Full Time)
We are advertising on behalf of a private specialist medical practice located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The practice delivers a wide range of services in a specialist medical setting and places a strong emphasis on high quality patient care and a positive workplace culture.
The Position
We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join the team. Strong IT skills is essential to the role.
Shifts may include evenings, with the latest finish times being 7 pm or 8 pm a few days a week.
Final shift allocations will be confirmed with the successful candidate
The Role
- Front desk reception and medical secretarial duties
- Opening and closing the clinic
- Booking and confirming patient appointments
- Billing patients and submitting Medicare claims
- Managing phone and email enquiries
- Assisting with patient management and general administration
- Facilitating in-clinic treatments as required
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years' experience in medical reception or administration
- Strong proficiency with IT systems – Genie medical software experience highly regarded
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a professional presentation
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
- Tech-savvy, adaptable, and proactive in improving practice processes and patient experience
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Comfortable with evening finishes on 2-3 nights of the week (7 pm or 8 pm)
- Highly proficient in IT systems and able to learn such systems quickly
- Personable, approachable, and committed to contributing to a positive and supportive workplace culture
- Passionate about providing an exceptional patient experience in a specialist medical setting
