About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Technology Project Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering technology projects and initiatives that support the strategic and operational goals of the City. This role combines project management expertise with hands-on technical capability, ensuring the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and software projects, as well as minor technical works and upgrades.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage project lifecycles, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Undertake minor technical works including system configurations, software installations, and network adjustments.
  • Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and community stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment and compliance with relevant regulations, procurement policies, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Prepare and present project documentation and updates to senior leadership and council stakeholders.

About the Successful Candidate

You are a proactive problem-solver with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a solid technical foundation. You thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes that support community and organisational goals.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • A formal qualification or comparable experience in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, enterprise systems (ERP, GIS, records management), and minor technical tasks.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A current 'C' class Driver's Licence and National Police Certificate.

What We Offer

This permanent, full-time position offers a salary of $115,291 - $133,968 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
