Our client is a high-volume retail business with a collaborative, down-to-earth team culture in Alexandria (close to public transport & a hybrid model of work) and is paying $120,000 + super depending on experience. 

Past/current processing experience within a retail environment is essential.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Payroll Officer to own end-to-end payroll and drive systems and process improvement. You'll partner with HR and Finance, ensure award compliance, and help optimise a modern payroll stack. Competitive package on offer with scope to add value through automation and reporting upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run end-to-end, high-volume payroll across multiple pay frequencies
  • Manage T&A, onboarding/terminations, leave, audits, and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with PAYG, super, payroll tax, and the General Retail Industry Award (GRIA)
  • Produce accurate payroll r eports and support month- and year-end activities
  • Lead or assist with system optimisation, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives (Dayforce environment)

About You

  • Proven end-to-end payroll background in high-volume settings (retail sector experience essential)
  • Experience with Dayforce (essential, however highly tech-savvy candidates with strong system integration or optimisation experience will also be considered)
  • Advanced Excel/reporting skills; strong attention to detail and stakeholder communication
  • Process-improvement mindset with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
