Payroll Officer for a construction company in Liverpool - Temp to Perm

This Australian-owned business is a key player in the construction industry, working on major projects with some of the country's largest builders. Known for its professional approach and strong team culture, the company is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join its team full-time onsite in Liverpool. This role will be temp to start before transitioning to a permanent role.
Your new role
As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing weekly payroll processes across multiple states, ensuring compliance with various EBAs and awards. Your duties will include:
- Processing end-to-end payroll using Cheops and time and attendance systems
- Calculating pay, tax, superannuation, workers compensation, and leave entitlements
- Preparing separation certificates, indemnities, and handling terminations
- Responding to employee payroll queries via phone and email in a timely manner
- Preparing monthly submissions and end-of-financial-year reports
- Supporting the finance team with payroll-related reporting and compliance tasks
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in payroll within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of EBAs and award agreements across different states
- Familiarity with payroll systems - Cheops is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite full-time in a fast-paced environment
