Constituent Services Officer

The office of Ash Ambihaipahar MP is seeking applications for a full-time ongoing Constituent Services Officer in the Member's Electorate Office in Kogarah, NSW.
Position Overview
This is a vital role in Team Barton, that involves direct outreach to the community. The Team is looking for an enthusiastic person with strong interpersonal and organisational skills. The ideal candidate will have worked in an Electorate Office previously, and shows initiative, dedication and diligence in their work.
The key duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Responding to constituent enquiries and managing complex casework (e.g. Centrelink, immigration, NDIS, housing).
- Maintaining accurate records in constituent databases.
- Preparing correspondence, Ministerial representations, and briefing notes.
- Supporting the Member's local engagement with schools, clubs, and community groups.
- Assisting with events, meetings, and community briefings.
- Delegating and triaging tasks across the office where appropriate.
- Providing support to the wider team as needed.
The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in an Electorate Office or on a campaign.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced office.
- A strong sense of initiative and attention to detail.
- A commitment to the values of the Member.
Employment conditions:
This position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement which include:
- A commencing salary of $74,537 and $78,911 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
- An additional optional allowance of up to $20,897 will also be negotiated in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
- Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave my also be available (subject to eligibility requirements).
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.

An initial probationary period of three months may apply and may be subject to extension.
Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act.
The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards.
