Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Example Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

HEAD OF SOCIAL

WHO WE ARE

Example is an earned-led culture agency.

We create and amplify the world's most talked-about brands, destinations and experiences.

In a world overloaded with noise, brands don't win by chasing attention - they earn it.

From consumer brands to hospitality, hotels to entertainment, we bring brands to life through talkability-first ideas, story driven spaces and world-class experiences that drive influence and demand.

About the Role:

Example is seeking a Head of Social, a strategic, creative leader who knows how to make brands
unmissable

online.

You live and breathe platform culture, spot shifts before they land, and know how story and strategy move people to act. You turn ideas into content people care about, then scale what works.

You'll lead our social and talent function across Australia and the Middle East, shaping how clients show up on every platform. From high-level strategy to feed curation and campaign ideation, you'll set the creative vision, lift the standard, and coach a team to deliver every day. You'll also build a high-performing creator engine and social newsroom that turns live moments into momentum.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Example's social offering across social strategy, content, social campaigns and influence across AU and ME markets.
  • Oversee delivery for key clients - ensuring every post, partnership and platform touchpoint reflects best-in-class creative and execution.
  • Develop annual and campaign social strategies tied to brand goals, cultural moments and channel realities.
  • Set the tone for visual and verbal storytelling, with clear guardrails that keep work distinctive and consistent.
  • Oversee the direction of shoots and creative development from brief to publish, including platform-native formats and social-first production.
  • Pilot and scale non-traditional social plays: real-time content, live formats, community builds and chat-based experiences.
  • Establish the operating model for social: methodologies, workflows, resourcing plans, QA standards and the day-to-day rhythm of the team.
  • Guide influencer and creator collaborations to drive reach, trust and action, not just impressions.
  • Define the measurement stack and learning agenda. Go beyond vanity metrics to prove impact on search lift, footfall, bookings, sales and retention.
  • Collaborate with PR and creative leads so social is at the heart of every earned idea and every on-premise moment.
  • Manage and mentor a team, ensuring clarity, capability and creative excellence.
  • Manage budgets, forecast capacity and report performance with clarity.

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years leading social strategy and content across multiple brands or agency clients, including team leadership.
  • Proven track record of building social that moves culture and the numbers. You can show how content, creators and community drive commercial outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of platform culture and trends. You know what performs and why — and how to adapt it for different markets.
  • Strong creative instincts with an editorial eye for design, copy and storytelling.
  • Confidence in shaping strategy, running rooms and presenting to senior clients.
  • Organised, proactive and calm under pressure. Pace without panic. Polish without ego.
  • Passion for hospitality, culture and experiences people talk about.

How to Apply

Send to

  1. Two case studies that prove non-traditional social thinking and outcomes. Include the problem, your role, the creative idea, and results tied to business impact.
  2. Links to live work and channels you directly led.

Example are committed to diversity and inclusion, and do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, education, or disability status.
