We are looking for a proactive and passionate Social Media & Editorial Assistant to join our growing digital team. This is a junior role, ideal for someone eager to kickstart their career in digital marketing, with a strong interest in social media, content creation, and community engagement.

In this hands-on role, you will support the daily management of Sitchu's social channels by scheduling posts, engaging with our community, and assisting with short-form video content. You'll also provide general admin support to the wider editorial and digital teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule daily posts and stories across Sitchu's social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and X (Twitter).
  • Assist with the creation, filming, editing, and scheduling of short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other platforms.
  • Re-share high-performing content using insights to maximise engagement and traffic growth.
  • Assist with regular Pinterest scheduling and content testing.
  • Respond to comments and direct messages across all platforms to foster community engagement.
  • Connect with relevant accounts to strengthen brand presence and support audience growth.
  • Monitor the general enquiries email inbox and direct enquiries to the appropriate team member.
  • Gather data and insights to support performance reporting.
  • Provide general marketing and administrative support to the wider team as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Media, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, with a strong interest in lifestyle content.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Genuine passion for social media and digital marketing.
  • Creativity with a strong eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • A fast learner who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Ambition to build a career in social media, content, or digital marketing.

This is a full-time, initial 6-month contract with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The role is based at Sitchu's head office in Lane Cove, with flexibility to work from home.
