About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to support a senior executive team within a government agency at the intersection of governance, academia, and parliamentary services. You'll collaborate with commissioners, academics, and high-level executives, providing secretariat support across strategic meetings and briefings, including committee meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide secretariat support for executive and stakeholder meetings.
- Prepare agendas, take concise and critical notes (not verbatim), and track follow-up actions.
- Accurately document key decisions and ensure actions are followed through.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including commissioners and academics.
- Navigate complex governance, parliamentary, and academic terminology with precision.
- Support the Assistant Director and collaborate with the Parliamentary Services Officer.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold APS standards.
- Operate confidently in high-stakes environments, demonstrating pragmatism and attention to detail.
About You:
- Prior experience in a secretariat role within the APS is essential.
- Strong note-taking and documentation skills, with the ability to extract key points efficiently.
- Comfortable with governance, parliamentary, and academic terminology.
- Professional, pragmatic, and discreet-well-suited to a stoic, grounded personality.
- Able to work independently while maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
- High attention to detail and diligence in managing sensitive information.
- You thrive in high-stakes environments and are pragmatic, detail-oriented, and confident in your work.
