THE ROLE
As part of the Homelessness Reform and Service Design Unit, the Policy and Project Officer will contribute to shaping homelessness policy and service models to support a service system for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The role involves research, analysis, provision of advice and design with stakeholders to develop and implement contemporary, evidence-informed service models and systems that contribute to homelessness being rare, brief and non-recurring.

Accountabilities Include

  • Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
  • Undertaking research, analysis and implementation of policy and design projects based on defined outcomes and outputs, including implementation planning.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of policy advice and projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
  • Contributing to monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Contributing to monitoring and identifying risks and appropriately managed.

  • Assist in providing clear, concise and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present correspondence, reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions.

  • Provide secretariat support and assist development of materials for stakeholder committees, governance and groups concerned with achieving government and departmental objectives.
