The SEC is building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035. We are working together for renewable, affordable, reliable energy for all Victorians.
Your role
This newly created 12-month fixed term role offers a unique opportunity to shape a cleaner, more affordable energy future for all Victorians. As a seasoned, business-focussed BA, you will ensure the seamless execution of business analysis activities within our Consumer Energy Solutions (CES) team.
Your focus will be on analysing, mapping, modelling, and optimising business processes to support the delivery of our exciting One Stop Shop (OSS) and other business projects. Working with diverse stakeholders, you will enable the alignment of business needs and processes with organisational objectives and technical solutions while ensuring efficiency and quality outcomes.
Be at the forefront of innovation and play a key role in designing and rolling out brand-new processes from the ground up, all while supporting the launch of brand-new technology that's set to transform the way we do things.
If you thrive in a dynamic, start-up-style environment, love sharing your expertise in best-practice methodologies, and enjoy collaborating across teams to drive innovation, this is the perfect opportunity to make your mark.
This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD or Morwell offices
What you will do:
Some of the core accountabilities include:
- Conduct workshops with stakeholders to analyse, document, and improve business processes and workflows.
- Apply business process management (BPM) approaches to optimise process designs for efficiency and scalability.
- Develop detailed process maps and models, leveraging industry-standard tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio, Miro).
- Translate business workflows into functional and technical requirements for implementation in systems and platforms.
- Evaluate end-to-end processes and identify areas for improvement, conducting impact analysis and root cause analysis.
- Support testing activities and contribute to the change management strategy—including communications and training—to ensure smooth process implementation and successful post-launch stabilisation.
Who you are:
Must Have Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in business process analysis, process mapping, and optimisation.
- Proficiency with BPM methodologies and tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).
- Understanding of business process management systems (BPMS), including practical experience in their application.
- Certifications or formal training in BPM, Lean, Six Sigma (green belt and above), or related methodologies.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an ability to simplify complex processes.
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks and SDLC principles.
