NEDC is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and administered by The Butterfly Foundation (Butterfly).

The purpose of the role of Communications Support Office is to support the implementation of NEDC's Communications Strategy which outlines activities against website, resources, social media, events, and member engagement. The role requires the person to ensure that evidence-based information is presented in ways that are accessible and appealing to people with lived experience, clinicians, researchers and the public in a variety of contexts. The Communications Support Officer works closely with the Communications Lead and the NEDC team to promote NEDC's and the broader sector's work. This position reports to the NEDC's Strategy and Policy Lead. The position works closely with NEDC's Communications Lead who is responsible for NEDC's overarching Communications Strategy.

Responsibilities

•Support the implementation of NEDC's Communications Strategy, in collaboration with NEDC's Communications Lead

•Support the implementation of the social media calendar. This includes the development of tiles, copy, video and other creative communications methods.

•Manage NEDC's website including the coordination of content updates and design elements

•Support communications with NEDC's 14,000+ members, including the development of EDMs

•Work collaboratively with NEDC project leads to develop project communications plan that are appropriate to the project and target audience

•Support team members in the development of PowerPoint presentations, as aligned with NEDC's brand guidelines

•Design new resources using appropriate design platform (e.g. InDesign, Canva)

•Development of communications collateral, including social media and resource templates, infographics, icons, and imagery

•Maintain NEDC's existing resources, including coordinating content and design updates

•Proactively identify opportunities for other resources that meet a specific clinical or community need, such as resources for specific populations or emerging issues in clinical practice.

•Ensure design of any resources is eye-catching, easy to follow and consistent with NEDC brand elements.

•Measure and analyse communication activity performance to drive future work (e.g., google analytics, social media engagement)

•Ensure consistency and quality across NEDC visual content including factsheets, website, eLearning

•In collaboration with other team members, contribute to continuous improvement of all NEDC tools and resources, including web content, social media, presentations, learning platforms and printed resources.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

We're looking for an early career communications professional to join our team. To be successful in this position, the post-holder will need to be able to demonstrate the essential qualifications, skills and knowledge listed below. In addition, the desirable skills, knowledge and behaviours listed will be beneficial to success in this position.

Essential

•Minimum of two years' experience in social media and marketing roles

•Demonstrated skills and interest in visual communication, design and use of graphic elements to enhance understanding of a topic or process.

•Proficiency in graphic design with experiencing using Adobe Suite and Canva

•Proficient in making clinical or technical information clear and easy to follow.

•Understanding of various social media platforms

•Must hold a Working With Children clearance for the relevant state/territory and a National Police Check.
