The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Employment Lawyer with 3+ years PQE to join our dynamic team in our modern Chatswood/Sydney CBD office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer looking to work in a forward-thinking firm with a collaborative environment. You will handle a diverse range of employment law issues, working closely with a dedicated team and supporting a broad client base.

Key Responsibilities


• Provide expert advice to clients on employment law matters, including drafting, interpreting, and advising on employment agreements, company policies, and procedures.


• Assist clients in managing industrial relations issues, including negotiations and compliance matters.


• Offer guidance on workplace issues such as terminations, grievances, disciplinary actions, discrimination, and health and safety obligations, including conducting workplace investigations.


• Interpret employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW), and related laws to ensure clients meet their legal obligations.


• Prepare and assist with litigation processes, including unfair dismissal claims, general protections applications, breach of contract disputes, and restraint matters.


• Draft legal documents such as applications, affidavits, witness statements, and pleadings, and manage case files efficiently.


• Negotiate settlement agreements and advise clients on dispute resolution strategies.


• Collaborate proactively with clients to identify employment law risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, fostering strong ongoing relationships.


• Support and supervise junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of legal services.

Who We Are Looking For


• A minimum of 3 years PQE in employment law, with experience in both employee and employer matters.


• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, including Fair Work Act and anti-discrimination laws.


• Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality legal advice independently.


• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.


• Leadership experience is preferred for senior practitioners.
