Gorval Lynch Lawyers, located in Sydney, NSW, is a boutique litigation firm that is managed by 2 partners who oversee 3 main practice areas:
- Employment law including unfair dismissal and Fair Work Act litigation (the majority of the role);
- Family law;
- Commercial/ SME litigation and advice.
The current team is comprised of 2 partners, 6 lawyers, and 2 administrative assistants.
Role Description
Gorval Lynch is seeking an employment lawyer to join their team, graduate lawyers will be considered. This full-time role is primarily an on-site position, with Working From Home one day per week. Successful candidates will have a strong interest and experience in employment law. It will also assist candidates to have an interest or experience in general commercial litigation and advice, as well as family law. The skills required include research, drafting documents and providing advice and representation. The work will be supervised by a Partner. You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients and quickly gain significant experience in negotiating disputes. We will quickly equip the successful candidate to perform at a high level in litigious matters.
Qualifications and Skills
- A law degree from an accredited university
- Admission to practice law in NSW
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize competing tasks
- An ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn law and grow as a lawyer in the legal industry
- Familiarity with computer systems and software
- Willingness to progress quickly to represent clients in contentious matters, including in mediation and court mentions
