Debt Resolution Officer

**The Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) is currently recruiting for multiple AO4 Debt Resolution Officers within the Revenue Contact Centre and Collections division. A vacancy also exists with the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) division. Based in our Brisbane office, you will work in a collaborative team to deliver excellent debt resolution and collection services. Adopting a client centric approach, you will engage with clients and negotiate outcomes in challenging circumstances, including resolving escalations from within the team.
Your typical day as a Debt Resolution Officer may include:
- Answering client phone calls or written correspondence and applying debt management processes and effective negotiation techniques to resolve enquiries, ensuring a positive client experience and management of the debt pool.
- Working with debtors to resolve outstanding debts and providing information on how to meet compliance and obligation requirements - this involves inbound and outbound correspondence
- Negotiating and managing payment arrangements with debtors
- Initiating legal or administrative enforcement action when voluntary compliance fails
- Assisting in developing strategies to improve debt recovery and taxpayer compliance
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Resilience, patience and persistence and the ability to remain calm in challenging negotiations.
- A strong working knowledge of digital and data technology/systems.
- Capability to analyse, interpret and apply legislation and/or policy to achieve successful outcomes.
- High level of interpersonal and influential communication skills within a client-focused environment.
