About the Role

  • As a Recoveries Officer, you'll play a vital role in our team by:
  • Conducting inbound and outbound calls to customers regarding overdue accounts.
  • Negotiating and establishing repayment arrangements tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of customer interactions and payment agreements.
  • Processing payments and updating account statuses in relevant systems.
  • Handling customer queries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
  • Acting as an extension of our client's business, maintaining their reputation and brand values.
  • Ensuring compliance with Debt Collection Guidelines, Privacy Act, and company policies.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 12 months' experience in debt collections or recoveries (the more experience, the better).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • High level of empathy combined with professional assertiveness.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of debt recovery processes and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check (required).

Desirable:

  • Additional collections or customer service experience.
  • Formal qualifications in business, finance, or related field.
  • Experience with specific CRM or collections management systems.
  • Knowledge of hardship and vulnerability management processes.
