Collections Officer

We are looking for a Collections Officer to join our team and support effective debt collection for our customer communities. You will assist with all inbound and outbound calls with customers including monitoring and maintaining a portfolio of accounts, financial data, and approved collections strategies.

Core Responsibilities:
• Monitor and manage outstanding customer utility accounts (water, electricity, gas).
• Contact customers regarding overdue bills and arrange suitable repayment plans.
• Maintain accurate records of all communications and collection activities.
• Prepare regular reports on collection performance and arrears status.
• Work closely with the billing and customer service teams to ensure a seamless collections process.
• Escalate unresolved debts in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory guidelines in debt collection.
What will you bring to the role?
• Previous experience in collections, credit control, or utility billing is an advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive customer information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing/accounting systems.
