About the Program:
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a Strategic Industry Partner for the development of the Australian Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise with goals to enhance self-reliance, supply chain resilience, and developing a guided weapons manufacturing capability in Australia. The Strategic Capabilities Office will oversee the execution of GWEO initiatives.
About the role:
In this position you will make a key contribution to the establishment of domestic manufacture of guided weapons, explosive ordnance and munitions, by developing a sovereign supply chain capability, which ensures long-term resilience and self-reliance.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Co-ordinate a program of activities to develop deep understanding of Australian Industry Capability relative to the capabilities required for sovereign manufacturing of guided weapons
- Partner with suppliers and subject matter experts to evaluate capabilities, production requirements, and supply dependencies
- Collaborate with suppliers to understand economic order quantities and other dependencies that would be enablers for capability establishment
- Contribute to GWEO Industry Development strategies and plans
- Lead incubation, uplift, and demonstrator initiatives to accelerate industry readiness
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers, the Commonwealth, and wider industry stakeholders
- Identify risks, opportunities, and cross-industry collaborations to expand sovereign capabilities
- Prepare high quality business cases, capability reports and other material to support industry investment decisions
About you:
- Significant experience across supply chain management, industrial development, procurement and contracting
- Strong background in supplier capability development and performance improvement
- Proven track record delivering outcomes within complex projects and programs
- Working knowledge of production planning, quality management systems, and associated processes
- Broad understanding of defence-related technologies and Defence Industry Policy, including ADEFCON requirements
- Experienced in preparing investment business cases and reports for government stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop new supply chains to support manufacturing capabilities and products
- Familiarity with Australian suppliers and their associated capabilities
- Strong communication and active listening skills, collaboration and cooperation, flexibility and adaptability, accountability and a positive attitude
