The City of Nedlands is seeking a highly organised and proactive Business Support Officer to join our Technical Services division. This is a pivotal role providing high-level administrative, financial, and governance support to the Director Technical Services, helping to drive operational excellence and service delivery across the City.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director Technical Services, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Directorate. You'll manage executive schedules, coordinate council and committee reports, support financial processes, and assist with project tracking and governance activities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values precision, and brings a professional, solutions-focused approach to their work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage the Director's diary, emails, meetings, and travel logistics
- Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, reports, and presentations
- Coordinate council reports and ensure compliance with governance standards
- Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with discretion
- Raise purchase requisitions, process invoices, and reconcile accounts
- Support project tracking, reporting, and dashboard compilation
- Provide backup support to the CEO's Executive Officer when required
- Assist with internal audits, grant acquittals, and financial reporting
- Liaise with internal teams, Councillors, external stakeholders, and the community
What You Bring
Must-haves:
- Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an administrative or executive support role
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document formatting, and financial systems
- Sound judgement, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
- Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence
- National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old)
Bonus points for:
- Experience in local government or public sector operations
- Familiarity with TechnologyOne and Power BI
- Knowledge of council governance and reporting processes
