What you'll be doing

The NSW CICADA Centre provides Care and Intervention for Children and Adolescents affected by Drugs and Alcohol. The centre has three clinical streams; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) clinic, Family Services and Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Service.

The primary purpose of the Senior Social Worker is to provide;

• High level clinical services to children, adolescents, parents and carers who present to the SCHN CICADA Center (FASD, Family or Adolescent service)
• Liaison with referring clinicians, family members, health professionals, education and disability services to ensure effective collaboration between clinicians for the care and overall wellbeing of children and adolescents presenting to CICADA services.
• Support to parents and/or caregivers to vulnerable families where domestic violence and child protection matters are identified.
• Individual and family-based therapies according to the needs identified.
• Complex case management in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Support the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate referral pathways for NDIS co-ordination
• Psychoeducation, support and family therapy for adolescents using substances, or children and adolescents affected by alcohol or other substance use within the family.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a recognised degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the AASW.
• Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child and adolescents' physical, psychological and social development.
