What you'll be doing

  • The purpose of the role is to work with key stakeholders to facilitate safe, effective and efficient use of antimicrobials at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick with the primary focus to work with clinicians to enhance patient care, utilising Quality Use of Medicine (QUM) principles including ensuring compliance with mandatory standards and policies.
  • Collaboration with Infectious Diseases clinicians in the ongoing management of the Antimicrobial Stewardship program at SCHR
  • Continued research activity in areas already identified and involvement in developing proposals and participating in areas of needed research
  • Participating in clinical pharmacy service provision at SCHR
  • Liaison with external bodies to share knowledge and support innovations in best practice to provide benefit to patient group

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Full registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no restrictions on scope of practice and extensive experience in the provision of advanced paediatric clinical pharmacy services including experience with antimicrobial stewardship
  • Demonstrated understanding of the healthcare system, especially in the public hospital setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant state and national policies that facilitate and support Antimicrobial Stewardship including familiarity with NSQHS Standards
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with and promote multidisciplinary teamwork in a busy healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, clinical supervision and management skills including ability to mentor, motivate and inspire ongoing development of staff
