We are looking for a self-motivated Business Development Manager to assist in developing new business and delivering our world-class water treatment systems.

Your role is to tailor solutions for contaminated Water Streams.

Training, support and guidance to kick start with opportunities to grow while developing relationships with clients around the country and internationally as we grow. We do recommend some experience and a can-do attitude for you to be successful.

About the Role

As the
Business Development Manager & Technical Solutions
, you will play a pivotal role in driving OLEOLOGY's growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing technical proposals, and building trusted client relationships across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region (including Malaysia).

You will bridge technical expertise with commercial acumen — from lead generation through to proposal development, trials, and successful project handover — ensuring our clients receive innovative, cost-effective, and performance-driven water treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key markets in Australia and Asia-Pacific.
  • Proactively engage with new leads through calls, meetings, presentations, and networking.
  • Clearly communicate OLEOLOGY's value proposition and technology advantages to potential clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date lead information in the company CRM.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic insights to management on client development and market trends.
  • Attend industry events, networking sessions, webinars, and conferences to build visibility and relationships.

Proposal & Technical Solution Development

  • Develop proposals and costings using OLEOLOGY's Master Costing Sheet and internal pricing models.
  • Work collaboratively with the Engineering Department to integrate process design input into tenders and client proposals.
  • Conduct and coordinate in-house trials and pilot tests as required to support proposal validation.
  • Prepare clear, technically sound, and commercially competitive proposals and review them with management.
  • Liaise with clients to present and review the designed water treatment systems, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial expectations.
  • Maintain client communication from proposal through to the issuance of Purchase Orders (PO) or trial hire agreements.

Trials and Pilot Management

  • Develop trial documentation, including layout design and implementation instructions.
  • Coordinate with technicians and field teams for trial setup and execution.
  • Ensure all trial data and performance results are captured accurately for client reporting and proposal refinement.

Client & Project Handover

  • Manage client relationships from initial enquiry through proposal and order confirmation.
  • Handover awarded projects at the Kick-Off Meeting (KOM) stage to the assigned Engineer and/or Project Manager.
  • Ensure all technical, commercial, and communication details are clearly transferred to the project delivery team for seamless execution.

You Should Have

  • Strong technical understanding of water treatment, filtration systems, or environmental engineering processes.
  • Ability to translate technical processes into clear, client-friendly value propositions.
  • Proven experience in business development, technical sales, or proposal management within engineering or environmental sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong proposal writing and presentation abilities.
  • Effective project management skills, with the ability to meet key objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills to engage effectively with clients, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and deliver solutions that align with client needs and OLEOLOGY's capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel interstate and internationally (within the Asia-Pacific region, including Malaysia) as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical), Environmental Science, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in business development or technical solution sales within industrial water treatment, process engineering, or similar industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle client development — from lead identification to contract award.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, proposal costing tools, and project documentation processes.
