About the role

Organisational Planning and Development (OPD) builds capacity, efficiency and quality, bringing to life and delivering our community's vision, values, aspirations and priorities. We are seeking a Business Process Improvement Officer to build efficiency and consistency into the City's processes.

As a member of the Change Team within the broader OPD team, you will take a leadership role and positively influence across the organisation to dynamically streamline and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes and improve our customers' experience.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the City's business processes ensuring the overall model is effective, well promoted and used by the organisation
  • Lead process reviews for complex processes where support is required, where opportunities for significant efficiency exist or as otherwise required
  • Help to embed process changes, using change management principles
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation to enhance business excellence outcomes
  • System administrator for the City's process mapping software.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • An end-to-end business process outlook, with the ability to identify areas for business improvement and translate business improvement principles into practice
  • Specialist knowledge, skills and experience in process management, improvement and re-engineering
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, leading and empowering others to dynamically identify and implement solutions
  • Experience in the application of change management practices
  • Experience developing and delivering training
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems Management, business, change management or equivalent experience
  • Qualification or formal training in business improvement methodologies
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $94,386 to $112,499 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.

About the City

The City of Swan, located north east of Perth, is the largest local government by land size in the Perth metropolitan area, and has one of the fastest growing populations.
