Business Development Manager - Civil Construction

Location: Hybrid (Office / Remote)

Western Downs Civil (WDC) is a locally owned and operated business based in Chinchilla, QLD. We are dedicated to delivering excellence and maintaining the highest safety standards in civil construction. Our expertise spans a wide range of projects, with a focus on energy infrastructure, including gas, renewable energy solutions such as Battery Energy Storage, solar farm infrastructure, wind farm civil works, and grid connection substations.

Job Description

WDC are seeking a motivated & results driven Business Development Manager to be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities in the civil construction sector. The Business Development Manager will develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to grow the company's project portfolio across energy infrastructure, including gas, renewable energy solutions and other civil construction services.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities
  • Build strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Prepare and deliver expressions of interest (EOIs)
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to increase brand visibility
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver on client expectations

About you:

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (preferred but not essential)
  • Construction White Card
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Proven experience in a similar BDM or client-facing role within the civil construction industry
