Medical Officer (PGY-3+) – Melbourne - Locum / Perm / Contract

An opportunity is available for a Medical Officer (PGY-3+) to work in a dynamic setting, providing comprehensive patient care across a range of therapeutic areas. This 0.6–1.0 FTE role follows a 7-day roster, balancing direct patient care with involvement in First-in-Human trials and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Requirements:

  • PGY-3+ with relevant clinical experience.
  • General AHPRA registration (mandatory).
  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Interest in acute and general medicine.

Role Overview:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including clinical assessments and management.
  • Collaborate with senior physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to patient safety, medication review, and clinical governance.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, including pathology and imaging, and make appropriate clinical decisions.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and adverse events when required.
  • Participate in rostered shifts, ensuring high-quality care across a 7-day schedule.
  • Gain exposure to research, supporting the clients involvement in early-phase clinical studies, including First-in-Human trials.
  • Assist in the monitoring and management of patients involved in clinical research, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
