Medical Liaison Officer – Drive Business Growth in Healthcare

Are you a growth-focused professional ready to make a measurable impact? Icon Group is seeking a proactive and commercially minded field-based Medical Liaison Officer (MLO) to accelerate our business expansion and strengthen our market position across multiple sites.

About the Role:

As a Medical Liaison Officer, you will be out in the field meeting with specialists, visiting clinics, attending events, and identifying new opportunities. Working closely with the Lead Business Development Manager VIC/TAS, you will be instrumental in executing growth strategies and delivering tangible results that expand our reach and enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Growth:

    Champion and execute targeted business development initiatives to increase referrals, expand our service footprint, and drive revenue growth across the south-east Melbourne region.
  • Strategic Relationship Management:

    Build and nurture high-value partnerships with specialists, healthcare providers, and referrers. Leverage these relationships to unlock new business opportunities and strengthen Icon's reputation as a trusted partner.
  • Market Intelligence:

    Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities. Use data-driven insights to inform growth strategies and adapt quickly to market changes.
  • Support MDM Coordination: Assist in the effective coordination of multidisciplinary meetings, promoting excellence in clinical care and operational processes.
  • Brand Growth & Promotion:

    Collaborate with Marketing to deliver impactful campaigns and PR activities that elevate Icon's profile and attract new business.

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth, ideally within healthcare or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated strong IT proficiency, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications, alongside the ability to work with databases and dashboards to analyse referral patterns and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • A self-starter who enjoys being out and about, researching new opportunities, making cold calls, and building relationships face to face.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A current open driver's license.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, or a Health-related discipline (desirable).
  • Familiarity with the Cancer Care Continuum and healthcare regulations (advantageous).
