Primary objective
Effectively contribute to the provision of Radiology services with a strong focus on high-level patient care, meeting the needs of
the population of Central Australia. This includes learning and covering all roles within the Radiology Administrative team including
front line reception, Booking Officers and Communications.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Coordinate and schedule Radiology Specialist Clinics
- Effectively monitor and manage multiple Specialist Clinic waitlists.
Receive, screen and enter Specialist referrals received from internal and external referrers via email.
Build effective working relationships and communicate with patients, GP's, Hospital Specialists, Visiting Specialists, District
Medical Officers / Community Health clinics and Department of Corrections.
5. Identify patients not eligible for free treatment under Medicare and ensure the appropriate pathways are followed to initiate
charging procedures and processes.
6. Effectively communicate with all members of the administrative team and the wider organisation to coordinate care and achieve
desired outcomes.
7. Provide a high level of service and information to patients, their families/carers and external Health Care organisations by
providing correct and relevant information, to coordinate necessary services/treatment.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High level of administrative experience in the NTPS or Private Sector.
2. Experience working and communicating in a diverse multicultural environment and appropriately dealing with a diverse range
of issues.
3. Experience in the use of equipment, computers and medical software packages with accurate data entry for patient safety and
reporting purposes.
4. Experience working in a high-pressure fast paced environment, managing heavy workloads and meeting deadlines.
5. Experience working within a busy and demanding service environment within the constraints of the work area e.g. availability
of space, staff and resources.
6. Experience providing a high level of service to patients and their families/carers by providing correct and relevant information,
to coordinate necessary services/treatment.
