Melbourne, Victoria, Australia FPA Australia Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

ABOUT THE FIRE PROTECTION INDUSTRY BOARD

The Fire Protection Industry Board (FPIB), operating within FPA Australia and in partnership with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water (DCCEEW), is dedicated to reducing the impact of harmful gases in the fire protection industry to protect and restore the ozone layer. Our work focuses on reducing emissions and safeguarding the future of our environment.

This is achieved through licensing technicians and companies that handle scheduled gases, monitoring compliance, promoting best practice, providing education and training, and actively engaging with industry stakeholders.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to internal career progression, we are seeking a National Field Engagement Team Leader to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Officer, this role will play a key part in leading engagement activities across the fire protection industry and supporting our mission of environmental protection.

The purpose of this position is to ensure the Fire Protection Industry Board (FPIB) delivers the National Field Engagement Program to the highest standard, fostering an educated, inspired, and compliant industry.

FPIB offers flexible hybrid working arrangements, with two days in the office and three days working from home. A company car is also provided in addition to the remuneration. This is a fixed-term contract to 31 October 2026 with the possibility of extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The National Field Engagement Team Leader is responsible for leading the Field Engagement Program across Australia, managing a small geographically dispersed team, and ensuring program deliverables are achieved to a high standard. The role oversees site visits with permit holders to monitor compliance, provides guidance and support where non-compliance is identified, and escalates matters to DCCEEW as required.

A key focus is on building strong, collaborative relationships with permit holders, fire protection companies, government agencies, and other industry stakeholders, while promoting education and best practice. The role also provides leadership and training to Field Engagement Officers, ensuring they are empowered to work effectively and autonomously.

By maintaining close engagement with industry, stakeholders, and the vocational education sector, the Team Leader ensures the program contributes to a compliant, well-informed industry and supports the reduction of harmful emissions.
