We are currently recruiting for a DSO Technology Manager on a 2 year fixed term contract. This role will be based within the Essential Energy footprint with the ability to work from home in a hybrid work environment.
About the Role
As the DSO Technology Manager within the Distribution System Operator (DSO) team, you will lead the development and uplift of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems to support Essential Energy's transition to a Distribution System Operator (DSO). You will deliver new digital solutions aligned with DSO objectives, business improvement requirements, and regulatory needs. This role involves strategic leadership in implementing and managing technology solutions, ensuring robust technical governance and cyber security compliance. You will play a pivotal role in integrating Distributed Energy Resources (DER) with the electricity network and leveraging new technologies to deliver long-term network and customer benefits.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the internal development of a system strategy and roadmap for uplifting Essential Energy's DSO capabilities.
- Managing project teams for the development and implementation of CER and DER Management Systems (CERMS and DERMS), ensuring technology stack alignment with business requirements.
- Managing the DERMS Operations team to ensure ongoing performance and support for customers, solar installers, and other stakeholders.
- Translating strategic intent into IT and OT system specifications and leading implementation.
- Applying cloud solutions and agile methodologies to deliver CERMS and DERMS capabilities.
- Assuming responsibility for planning, approval, and implementation of DSO technology projects.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
Desirable: Postgraduate studies in a relevant discipline.
