Role Overview
This is an opportunity for a strategic and execution-focused Technology Manager to step into a pivotal leadership role with a well-established organisation operating in a complex, asset-heavy sector.
Reporting to the CFO, this newly created role will drive the transition from a reactive MSP-reliant model to a mature, scalable internal capability. You'll take ownership of the full technology stack from infrastructure to ERP, data, and service delivery while also recruiting and developing a high-performing internal tech team.
It's a career-defining role for someone who wants to build trust in technology, strengthen alignment with the business, and lay the groundwork for innovation across systems, analytics, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily technology operations across infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, ERP, business systems, and end-user support, ensuring SLA, compliance, and security standards are met
- Manage vendor relationships, with a strong focus on MSP oversight, SLA governance, and leading the upcoming RFP process for MSP selection
- Own and maintain ERP systems, ensuring stability, performance, and alignment with business needs, including upgrades and integrations
- Implement and mature ITIL-based service management practices, driving process improvement, standardisation, and documentation
- Support successful delivery of technology projects, ensuring seamless transition into BAU with robust training, support models, and operational readiness
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership and business unit heads, acting as the primary technology escalation point and reporting on performance, risks, and improvements
- Build and lead a new internal technology team across service delivery, infrastructure, ERP, and data with a passion for data, IoT, and innovation encouraged to help shape future capabilities
Candidate Profile
You're a hands-on, relationship-driven leader who thrives in greenfield environments. You bring clarity, structure, and momentum balancing strategic direction with strong delivery.
- 5+ years in technology operations, service delivery, or infrastructure leadership
- Strong ERP knowledge, including upgrade and integration cycles
- Proven experience in managing MSPs and vendor performance
- Familiarity with ITIL and service management frameworks
- Confident in leading technology projects and transitioning them into BAU
- Interest or experience in Data, Analytics, or IoT
- Exposure to cybersecurity governance and vendor-led security models
- Builds trust across teams and stakeholders, including executives and board-level engagement
Company, Culture & Benefits
Our client is a well-established Australian business operating in a critical, operations-focused industry, currently undergoing a significant transformation. With a national presence and a strong emphasis on safety, performance, and innovation, they're investing in modernising their technology landscape.
- Greenfield opportunity to build and lead internal tech capability
- $170,000 to $180,000 + super + bonus
- Flexible hybrid model - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH
