What we are looking for

UNICEF Australia is seeking a passionate and strategic
Community Fundraising Manager
to lead and grow our community-based fundraising initiatives. This role is key to driving donations, acquiring supporters, and building meaningful relationships with individuals, schools, faith groups, and community organisations.

Reporting to the
Marketing Manager, Acquisition
within the
Individual Giving
team, you will manage core campaigns and oversee one direct report (Marketing Executive), supporting the planning and execution of key fundraising activities.

Your day will include

  1. Lead Strategy and Growth
  2. Develop and execute a multi-year strategy to grow UNICEF Australia's Community Fundraising programs across multiple channels.
  3. Budget and Performance Oversight
  4. Manage budget planning, forecasting, and evaluation to ensure financial targets and campaign ROI are met.
  5. Signature Event Leadership
  6. Strategically lead and grow our flagship fundraising event 'Dusk to Dawn', overseeing planning, delivery, marketing, and post-campaign evaluation.
  7. Schools Fundraising Strategy
  8. Design and implement a schools-focused strategy to engage young people in fundraising aligned with advocacy and child rights goals.
  9. Emergency Appeal Fundraising
  10. Manage peer-to-peer fundraising during emergency appeals, with a focus on diaspora engagement and rapid campaign execution.
  11. Risk and Governance
  12. Ensure all fundraising activities comply with best practices in governance, risk management, data handling, and child safeguarding.
  13. Team Leadership
  14. Support and develop the Marketing Executive, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

We would like you to have the following skills and experience

  • Minimum of five years' career experience managing community fundraising campaigns, including overseeing financial targets.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering in-person events
  • Demonstrated experience with people management (including success in delivering on

individual and team targets/KPIs)

  • Knowledge and experience with CRMs (Salesforce preferred), and online fundraising platforms eg. Raisely (advanced), and/or Funraisin, Grassrootz (basic)
  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing approaches, strategic communication, reporting methods, and an ability to facilitate projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in budget management and forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, problem-solving skills and an ability to influence and

persuade.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, develop relationships and turn ideas into results

through a responsive, flexible, and approachable attitude
