Role Summary
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for the daily processing of financial transactions and providing support to the Group Accountant. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with payroll and month-end financial reporting.
Day to Day Responsibilities

Daily processing of financial transactions including bank receipts, supplier invoices and payments.

Ensure accurate general ledger processing in line with budget allocations.

Preparing and reconciling bank statements.

Respond to any client enquiries regarding their invoice.

Prepare weekly supplier and expense reimbursement payments.

Prepare month end workpapers and reconciliations for each company in the Verlata group.

Prepare the monthly recharge worksheet for each region and the consolidated recharge worksheet.

Assist with the preparation of fortnightly/monthly pay runs for employees in multiple countries, including superannuation/pension payments.

Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll matters.
Requirements
-
Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred but not essential.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team.
