JS Careers is currently assisting a high growth professional services business in sourcing a senior executive leader for their outsourced company secretary and governance practice.

The role will be based in Perth, WA.

This is a true senior leadership role where the successful candidate will be responsible for all components of business strategy, growth and profitability of the firm.

Our client is looking for a senior company secretary who has team and business leadership experience and a commercial mindset.

Duties:

  • Regional leadership for the outsourced company secretary practice;
  • Effectively oversee the management of client relationships and ensure correct allocation of resources;
  • Offer a full range of secretarial and governance services to ASX-listed, public, and private clients.
  • Manage high-quality relationships with clients and other stakeholders, including shareholders, share registries, lawyers, and regulators;
  • Take full responsibility for growth and lead business development initiatives;
  • Offer guidance on corporate governance, including compliance with the Corporations Act (Cth) 2001, ASX Listing Rules, and ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations;
  • Assist clients in Board and Shareholder meetings when required;

Suitable candidates must possess:

  • 10+ years of company secretary experience in leadership roles (ASX listed company experience is essential);
  • Experience from within a commercial environment or professional services firm is a strong preference;
  • Ability to build a practice, run and own a p&l and lead a high performance team;
  • Ability to develop business, network and pitch to new clients;
  • Relevant degree and/or governance qualifications;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational and prioritisation skills;
  • Be comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively with a focus on team goals and objectives.
