Contract Duration:

The Opportunity

This is an
urgent requirement
for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the BDS team. You will lead a critical and complex data program for a
large Federal Government agency
, playing a pivotal role in its success.

As a subject matter expert in
Data Management, Architecture, and Solutioning
, you will steer complex projects, re-engineering solutions to solve organisational problems through innovation. This is a dynamic role offering immense variety; one day, you will be working with the client to define business requirements, and the next, you will be collaborating with your team to resolve a complex technical challenge and keep the project on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery:
  Take ownership of the project lifecycle, managing the delivery of a complex data program to the required cost, timescale, and quality parameters.
• Team Leadership:
  Lead, motivate, and manage a project team of 5-15 people, ensuring accountability and fostering a culture of delivery excellence.
• Agile & Scrum Management:
  Act as a Scrum Master for the team, clearing obstacles and impediments, protecting the team from external interruptions, and ensuring adherence to Agile principles for efficient value delivery.
• Stakeholder Management:
  Work closely with key client stakeholders across Business and IT, facilitating open dialogues, managing expectations, and gaining consensus on agreed objectives.
• Project Governance:
  Define project objectives, deliverables, critical success factors, risks, and resource requirements. Manage all project planning, including issue, risk, and change management processes.
• Commercial Acumen:
  Manage delivery to budget, oversee financial reporting and forecasting, and contribute to sales activities by developing proposals and presenting delivery propositions to clients.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Citizenship & Clearance:
  Must be an Australian Citizen and hold a current (non-expired) AGSVA
  Baseline Security Clearance
  .
• Experience:
  10+ years of Project Management experience delivering large-scale projects and programs within the
  Data and Analytics
  space.
• Data Expertise:
  Proven success in delivering large data implementation projects, particularly
  Complex System Integration (CSI)
  projects covering Data Engineering/Ingestion, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Agile Proficiency:
  Deep experience working in an Agile environment, ideally serving as a
  Scrum Master
  . Experience using
  Microsoft DevOps
  is highly desirable.
• Leadership:
  Demonstrable experience coaching, developing, and managing teams of at least 15-20 people.
• Certifications:
  Market-standard project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Agile, Certified ScrumMaster) are essential.
• Communication:
  Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to facilitate solution approaches and gain consensus across broad stakeholder groups.
• Commercial Skills:
  Experience with commercial negotiation, budget management, and contributing to pre-sales activities for securing new project work.
